What arrangements have been made for the Goa River Marathon?
- The organizers of the Goa River Marathon have appointed "Runners for life", a Bangalore based experienced recreation company as technical consultants for this event
- Professional event time keepers "Timing Technologies India" have been appointed to keep accurate time
- Ample drinking water will be provided at frequent intervals
- Local life support facilities will follow and be on stand-by
- Local media will cover the event extensively
- Veteran Category has been added to the main event for both males and females of age 45 and above
- Distribution of timer chips and bibs counter open till 7.30pm till the previous evening (10th dec)
- Cash awards to winners in various categories
- New introduction in 2011:
- 'Indian' category for Indian participants
- Corporate/Private relay run - 5 members per team. If you can assemble a team of 5 friends who can run 4kms each, then, run as a team as you stand a good chance of winning exciting cash prizes. Contact +919823078064 for details
When is the last date for registration?
The last date for registration for the Main 21Km event and the mini event is Dec. 10th 2011.
When is the start date and timmings?
The 21KM Marathon starts on 11th Decemeber, 2011 at 06:00 A.M. sharp
The 5KM Fun Walk-Run starts on 11th Decemeber, 2011 at 09:00 A.M. sharp
What are the entry fees?
21Km Run - Rs 550 per head
5Km Fun walk/run Rs 100 per head (50% discount for school children and senior citizens)
Corporate /Private Relay: Per 4 member team - Rs 10,000/-
Optional Pasta Party (for participants of 21 Km Marathon) - Rs 200
Optional T-Shirt (S to XL) Rs 450
Can I win more than one title?
In a case where a runner has to share multiple titles, the decision of the Race Director and organizers is final. No runner will get two titles and combined prize money.
How do I know if your mini marathon is walker friendly?
The mini event is a just-for-fun non-competitive event where participants can walk or run. The idea is to just reach the finish line in the spirit of
participation. Although the mini event is non-competitive, prize would be awarded for best costume, best theme group, oldest participant and so on. The amount
of time you take to participate is non-critical.
The Goa River Marathon Organizers will also provide you with water at regular intervals en route and medical services shall be on stand by.
Will all participants including Mini Event participants receive badge and timer chips?
Participants of Mini marathon will receive a BIB with running number. They will also be given a participation certificate, however, they will not be timed. Participants of 21Km Half marathon (main event) only will be timed and will receive both, a bib and a
timing certificate (i.e. if they finish the race).
Bibs and timer chips can be collected from our office at Vasco Sports Club, Rukmini Towers, Gr. Floor, Opp. Tilak Maidan, Vasco da Gama Goa. Ph: 0832- 2511333 on Dec 09th & 10th, 2011. Office closes at 7:30 p.m.
Is Pasta available in hotels in and around Vasco da Gama?
Ordinarily Pasta is not served in most Indian hotels. The event organizers have therefore arranged for a 'Pasta Party' to be held the previous evening (10th Dec.) from 7 p.m. onwards. A per head entry fee will be levied
and the fee will be based on cost. Those intrested are requested to intimate us by Dec 08th either by email (runnersingoa@gmail.com) or phone 0832- 2511333.

Apart from private hotels of which there are plenty in Goa, the Goa Tourism Development Corporation runs many hotels and are partenering with us to offer our

on the page displaying the list of participants.

Are taxi and tour guide services available in Goa?
Yes. Apart from Yellow and black cabs, there are also private taxi (yellow number plates) two or four wheel self driven and chauffeured vehicles available.

Is there a train station nearby?
Yes. A railway station connected to the rest of India is located within Vasco da Gama itself.
