What arrangements have been made for the Goa River Marathon?

1. The organizers of the Goa River Marathon have appointed "Runners for life", a Bangalore based experienced recreation company as technical consultants for this event
2. Professional event time keepers "Timing Technologies India" have been appointed to keep accurate time
3. Ample drinking water will be provided at frequent intervals
4. Local life support facilities will follow and be on stand-by
5. Local media will cover the event extensively
6. Senior Veteran and Super Veteran Categories have been added to the main event for both males and females.
7. Categories (Men & Women):
   1. Open Category
   2. VETERAN - 45 to 54 years
   3. SENIOR VETERANS - 55 to 64 years
   4. SUPER VETERANS - 65 and above
8. Cash awards to winners in all categories

When is the last date for registration?
The last date for marathon (including Corporate relay) registration is noon, December 05, 2013.
The last date for 5Km registration is midnight December 07, 2013 (extended by popular demand).

When is the start date and timmings?
The start date for all events is 08th Decemeber, 2013 and the timmings are:

The 21KM Marathon starts at 05:45 A.M. sharp
The 10 KM Competitive run starts at 06:00 A.M. sharp
The 5KM Fun Walk-Run starts at 08:00 A.M. sharp

Pacer Meeting will be held at 4:00 p.m. at Tilak Maidan Football Grounds, Vasco city on 07th Dec, 2013

What are the entry fees?
Entry fees (non-refundable):
21Km Run - Rs 1,100 per head
10KM Run - Rs 900 per head
5Km Fun walk/run Rs 150 per head
Optional Pasta Party (for participants of 10 & 21 Km Marathon) - Rs 400
Optional T-Shirt (S to XL) Rs 600

Can I win more than one title?
In a case where a runner has to share multiple titles, the decision of the Race Director and organizers is final. No runner will get two titles and combined prize money.

How do I know if your mini marathon is walker friendly?
The mini event is a just-for-fun non-competitive event where participants can walk or run. The idea is to just reach the finish line in the spirit of participation. Although the mini event is non-competitive, prize would be awarded for best costume, best theme group, oldest participant and so on. The amount of time you take to participate is non-critical.

The Goa River Marathon Organizers will also provide you with water at regular intervals en route and medical services shall be on stand by.

Will all participants including Mini Event participants receive badge and timer chips?
Participants of Mini marathon will receive a BIB with running number. They will also be given a participation certificate, however, they will not be timed. Participants of 21Km Half marathon (main event) only will be timed and will receive both, a bib and a timing certificate (i.e. if they finish the race).

BIB AND RACER KIT DISTRIBUTION WILL BE DONE AT: Tilak Maidan Football Grounds, Vasco city -which is also the Start point of all races.

NO BIBS AND RECER KITS WILL BE ALLOTTED AND NO REQUEST FOR COLLECTIONS AFTER ABOVE TIMINGS WILL BE ALLOWED STRICTLY.

Are Emergency Medical facilities available during the race?
Yes. This year Goa River Marathon has tied up with Manipal Hospitals, Dona Paula, Goa. Each participant at the Goa River Marathon 2013 can avail FREE check up to evaluate his/her fitness condition to participate for the event.

There will also be a medical stall during the event staffed by a doctor, nurse and a phsyio therapist from Manipal Hospitals. Additionally, there will be nurses / paramedics at six first-aid stations along the route of the marathon. There will also be one ambulance on stand-by.

Is Pasta available in hotels in and around Vasco da Gama?
Ordinarily Pasta is not served in most Indian hotels. The event organizers have therefore arranged for a 'Pasta Party' to be held the previous evening (07th Dec.) from 7 p.m. onwards. A per head entry fee will be levied and the fee will be based on cost. Those intrested are requested to intimate us by November 24th either by email (runnersingoa@gmail.com) or phone 0832- 2511333.

Are taxi and tour guide services available in Goa?

Is there a train station nearby?
Yes. A railway station connected to the rest of India is located within Vasco da Gama itself.
